Bluehost's Web Host Review

Newcomer to web development and need a easier way to make webpages. Bluehost has teamed up with PageWizard.com to help you out. You'll find it in your Cpanel.

Remember Page Wizard helps you create your site from scratch, but does not provide the ability to import your existing web pages.

According to Bluehost's knowledge base the first thing you see when you start up the builder is this.

I had to hit it twice though. The first time it created a blank page with a few words telling me the account had been created.

Please be advised that the procedure could change from the time of this writing. So check out the help center of Bluehost once you sign up for an account with them.

Before you can create a web page, you need to create a project to put it in. Projects allow you to separate web pages into groups, thus allowing you to build many different websites or parts of a website with the builder. To proceed, enter the name of your project in the text box shown in the image above.

Once you have selected a project, a new window will show like this.

The window has buttons including: "Start Website from Template", "Start Blank Website".

Let's start by clicking on the last option, "Start Blank File". And finally, enter the name of the file you wish to create like this. Make sure to name the first page in lower case index.html.

Once the page comes up click on the tutorial for more information, tips and advanced options.

Changing Page Titles
Select the project and the page you want to edit.
With the page up, right click somewhere in the page that has no pictures or writing. Then select edit workspace, from this page you can change each page title. You will need to do this with every page that you want changed.

Caution if you change it with the editor in the file manager then republish with Page Wizard all your changes will be lost as Page Wizard overwrites the current information with what has been updated inside of Page Wizard.

To set up thumbnails in PageWizard:

1. Create a new folder for your images on your server space.

2. Upload all of your images to that folder from your home computer using Unlimited FTP in the FTP Manager on your bluehost control panel.

3. Use the Thumbnailer in the Image Manager on your bluehost control panel to create thumbnails of your images.

4. Download your thumbnails to your home computer using Unlimited FTP.

5. Use the Upload Images function in PageWizard to upload all of your thumbnails from your home computer.

a. Click on "Upload Images" on the right-hand side of the screen (directly under the words "File Tree").
b. Click on "Browse..." and find one thumbnail and click "open". Do the same for each thumbnail individually.
c. Once you have selected all of your thumbnails click "Upload".

6. Insert your images by clicking on "Insert" in the upper left-hand side of PageWizard and clicking on "Insert". You will need to double-click the image file for it to open.

7. Right-click on one of the image that you have inserted on the page you are working on. This should display a drop down menu. Select "Add Link".

8. Enter the path to the large photo on your server space. For example if your domain (web address) is mywebsite.com and your large image is called picture1.jpg and is located in a folder called "images" inside of your public_html folder (which is the root folder for your website) you would enter: www.mywebsite.com/images/picture1.jpg and then click "OK".

Remember Page Wizard can only upload pictures with a .jpg or a .gif extension. Also the file name cannot contain any spaces or characters. (only letters and numbers)
