Survive and Thrive in Home Based Business
Author: Greg Dunne

Imagine life without a boss, freedom to do what you want and have what you want for yourself and your family. Ideal, I here you say. Owning your own business can be the means to achieve such a goal.

This article will help you to access if owning you own business is right for you.

Many have imagined themselves living such a life but relatively few actually do. If you think the boss is holding you back and everything will be fine when you can call the shots then get serious about what you will need to survive and thrive in your business.

A burning desire to succeed is without doubt the starting point of every great venture. Resolve to use every available means and talent that you can muster to achieve your great aim in life. This is fundamental to your success. If you go after your goal timidly trying to play it safe you have not committed yourself to success.

Your goal or what you want become is important. Where you have come from or where you are now is unimportant. Make the future state when you will have achieved you goal your reality. Think it, dream it, believe it. Your mind will believe what you feed it and your thoughts and actions will align with your future reality to make it happen.

Make a plan to achieve your goal and work the plan. After all, success is simply defining what you want and achieving it. Make it personal, measurable, achievable and time limited. For example you may commit yourself to do all you can to achieve $100,000 in sales of your product by the end of the financial year. Your plan reveals the number of sales and the average sale value required to reach your target. The plan is assessed as achievable when broken down to a daily or weekly number of sales.

Accept that you will have good and bad experiences in your journey toward your goal. Learn from them and resolve to do better than you did last month. Some of the most important lessons will come from the tough times in your business. Don’t get sidetracked by comparing yourself with others. Remember that success is reaching your goal not someone else’s.

Think in terms of your customers needs, not yours. Listen carefully and your customers will reveal to you exactly what they want. Creating many satisfied customers by providing exactly what they want will grow your sales and give you what you want. Ask yourself, “What can I do to delight my customer?” Give them an experience they will want to repeat again and again.

Finally, have the courage to believe you can do it. You can become the person you need to be to succeed. Read the books of successful people and put into practice one new thought or action each week. Over a year you will see 50 improvements in yourself and your business.

You can be the boss of your future if you have a strong desire to succeed, focus on your goal, make a plan and work your plan. Think constantly of how to improve and learn from all your experiences. Listen to your customers and fulfil their wants and you will have all of what you want. Be a courageous spirit.
